From Renter To Homeowner

Finally the day has come where you are tired of making those month to month rent payments. Payments that only benefit the owner of the home whom which you are renting from. You have reached that point in your life where you are wanting to start a foundation that last longer than a 12 month lease, something that builds equity. Becoming a homeowner can be scary for a lot of people but once that fear is faced, the process is exciting. Before you take that step you must first know and be prepared for the differences you are going to face.

When renting you have to worry about paying rent on time and covering utility costs. If an appliance were to malfunction, you are not faced with an upfront cost to fix it, that responsibility lands on the owner. When you purchase a home you face upfront costs, the scariest for most being the down payment. The amount you need could be anywhere between 3 and 20 percent, and for some zero. Another upfront cost that many fear is closing costs. Closing costs cover several things such a title insurance, surveys, inspection, insurance escrow, appraisal, and more. If you are worried about a homeowners insurance payments, no need to. A homeowners insurance payment is built into one mortgage payment. Last many homeowners worry about property taxes and Hoa dues. Everyone that owns a home has to pay property taxes. These very based on the size and location of your home. Hoa dues are only applicable if you are in a neighborhood or community that requires them.
