A home is a large investment, one that you would like to be safe as well. Getting a home inspection is just one way to ensure that you are making a good and safe purchase.

A home inspection is an examination of the condition of a home. An inspector checks the present condition of the home’s major systems. It focuses on the performance of the home, and not so much the cosmetics and design. A home inspection costs around $350 unless you want to check for radon and termites it will cost about $500. An inspector make sure to check all of the following in the home:

• Roof

• Structure

• Exterior

• Electrical

• Heating and Air Conditioning system

• Plumbing system

• Insulation and Vapour Barriers

• Interior

• Mechanical and Natural Ventilation system

One of the top reasons to get a home inspection is so you can be aware of major defects, safety concerns, and potential threats. Another reason to get an inspection is because most sellers fix the found defects so that they can get the house sold. Many buyers won't want to purchase a home that has issue. If you are going to buy or sell a home I do recommend always getting an inspection!
