Let's Get Your Home Ready To Sell

Selling a home can be a process. One of the most important things that goes into getting a home sold quickly is preparation. There are several things you as a seller can do to help assist the sale of your home.

1. Declutter the Entire Home ( neat and tidy)

Make sure that your home looks nice and neat before each showing as well as before the pictures are taken to get more people into the home!

2. Bring in a Cleaning Crew

Having the home nice and clean will overall enhance the appearance of the home making it seem worth more than it might actually be. It also will leave a great impression with those who come to see the home.

3. Have the Carpets Cleaned (or use your own carpet cleaner)

Having the carpets cleaned goes hand in hand with having the home cleaned. Once again overall nice and clean appearance helps a home sell quickly.

4. Touch Up Paint

If you have any marks or areas of paint that need touched up I would recommend doing so. Buyers do not like the idea of having to have a home repainted. You can use a magic eraser to get those little unwanted marks.

5. Fix Broken Items

If you have any littler items around the home that you know are broken, I would recommend cheaply fixing them if possible. The less work a buyer has to do the better.

6. Add missing finishes

If you have any missing finishes in the home it is always a good idea to finish those if possible before placing the home on the market.

7. Weed and Landscape Outdoor Areas

The landscape and outside of a home if the first thing a buyer sees when they come to the home. The outdoors will be the first impression. I recommend keeping your grass cut and landscaping somewhat well kept when the home is being shown.

8.Neutralized

Buyers like to see a home that is neutralized. This helps them create a visual of what they want to do with the home to personalize it!

9. Eliminate Busy-ness

Eliminate the busy-ness in the home if possible.

10. Make Spaces look as large as possible

Eliminating clutter and busyness of a home can help make spaces look bigger. Buyers like to see big spaces and big rooms.

11. Consistent color scheme

Don't go out of your way painting the whole home to have a consistent color scheme but if possible try and make it as consistent as possible. This is not necessary but definitely can help the sale of a home.

12. Stage simply

If possible, stage the home. Sellers want the home looking its best during showings. One can stage a home buy decluttering as well as adding little touches. These little touches could include adding color, flowers, trays or things to make a home look very professional.

13. Depersonalized -somewhat

Depersonalizing a home can help a buyer imagine what it would be like living in a home. You do not have to take down all of your family pictures but I highly do recommend putting a lot of pictures or art work away to help the buyer create their own visual.

These are just a few tips and tricks to help sell your home. Selling a home can be stressful but the pay-off will be worth it! You do not have to make all of these changes to your home but I highly recommend taking them into consideration.
